December 27, 2008

Well, Christmas is over. I took the whole week off, and yet I still didn't accomplish much of anything. It was a nice holiday, although I never did feel very Christmasy this year.

I didn't manage to finish the 50,000 word Nanowrimo novel, but I have a better idea of what I'd need to do to write that much, so maybe I'll try again next year. I'm not sure I'll ever manage it, but you never know. Everything I came up with sounded too much like stuff that's already been written.

My three-month checkup is next month. It's nerve-wracking, waiting around to hear that everything's okay, wondering if it will be or not.

Anyway, I don't have a lot to say right now, I guess. Maybe I'll think of more later.

  1. Happy New Year Shannon!
I am really feeling hopeful about this new year. I got through my surgery fine with nothing else to do. So I'm really grateful for that. Still tired but glad its behind me.

Have you ever read "Bird by Bird" by Anne Lamott? I haven't had too many ideas about trying to write a novel, but the book made me laugh out loud. All her stuff makes me laugh, tho her more recent stuff is a little church-y. If you know her, is there any other author you can recommend? I've read all her stuff and don't know what I'll read after I finish the last Harry Potter book. (I'm not such a prolific reader as you are but I do like it)

I'm looking forward to more of your posts! I'll send healing thoughts your way for next months checkup. I guess I will have one in a month too, as it will be 3 months for me.
